Reading the Nutrition Facts on food labels can help you make better decisions when you buy packaged foods. Most common areas of focus are serving size, sodium, and added sugars. When you understand the information on the label, it allows you to support your personal dietary needs for a variety of nutrients. Take time to read the entire label for best understanding of the foods used to fuel your body.

Start Small: Go to your pantry and choose a couple of your favorite foods and read the nutrition facts. Pleasantly surprised or questioning if there might be a healthier option? Finish Remarkable: Make label reading part of your grocery shopping activities. Choose foods that contain more of the nutrients you want and less of those you want to limit.
