I WILL: Read the Food Label
Ingredients aren’t always hidden. Be in the know!
Reading the Nutrition Facts Label on the packaged foods you’re purchasing can help you make informed decisions on which products are best for your lifestyle goals and overall health. Through federal regulations, these labels are required to clearly disclose very helpful information, for example: serving sizes, calories, percentages to Daily Values, and added sugars. Take time to consider the entire food label when grocery shopping. You may even be inspired to learn how you can make this same item at home for even more benefit of controlling what’s included in the foods you consume.
Start Small: Go to your pantry and choose a couple of your favorite foods and read the nutrition facts. Pleasantly surprised or questioning if there might be a healthier option?
Finish Remarkable: Make label reading part of your grocery shopping activities. Choose foods that contain more of the nutrients you want and less of those you want to limit.
