About
Each year we offer two events focused on education and connection around women’s health and wellness. Dr. Lori Tam, medical director, women’s heart wellness, Providence Heart Institute, hosts colleagues and industry experts on topics relatable to women of all adult ages. The information shared is meant to help guide, support, and encourage women to seek the education and resources — as well as take the next steps — to living their best, healthiest lives.
Topics generally focus on healthy behaviors and how they support women through the many experiences across the lifespan, how those experiences may increase risk factors, preventative steps to help lower risks, as well as opportunities for social engagement through conversation and activities with our experts and attendees.
See below for details on our next event. The registration form can be found at the bottom of this page.

These events are offered in-person and are held at our West Portland location.
Women’s Wellness Workshop
Wellness Unfiltered: Facts vs. Myths
Saturday, October 18, 2025 | 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
Join us for a morning workshop centered around women's health and wellness!
Dr. Lori Tam, medical director, women’s heart wellness, Providence Heart Institute, will host a keynote presentation along with Dr. Jacqueline Levene and Dr. Kathryn Dawson, cardiologists, Providence Heart Institute, guiding you through conversations connected to the health experiences of women across the lifespan and their impact on your heart health. These experts will also emphasize how behaviors focused on movement, nutrition, and wellbeing can support you in lowering your risk, and prevention of, certain heart ailments and diseases more associated with women.
With the knowledge gained during the keynote presentation, we introduce you to a variety of expert-led breakout sessions where the goal is to help inspire and motivate you in working through common challenges, barriers, and misconceptions related to several healthy lifestyle behaviors. You, as the attendee, will create your own adventure in choosing breakout sessions personal to your goals and interests. Sprinkled between those sessions you choose an activity as a nice mid-morning break: cooking demonstration, yoga/breath work, or a community service project.
Our goal for you is to leave this workshop feeling ready and prepared to take a new step toward your healthy lifestyle goals. As well as knowing the key heart health education takeaways to continue supporting you and perhaps to share with others, too.
A light and heart-healthy brunch will be served.
