In celebration of American Heart Month, this special event brings together experts to discuss a variety of topics centered around women's heart health and wellness. Heart disease remains the leading cause of death among women in the United States; though 80% of heart disease can be prevented through lifestyle choices, some female life experiences and genetics play a key role in heart health long-term. Our Providence Heart Institute experts share important points around hormones, genetics, and pregnancy that can impact heart health. You'll gain increased awareness for your general heart health, living with certain conditions or risk factors, as well as tools to help lower your risk through lifestyle behaviors and disease management.
Dr. Lori Tam, cardiologist, and women's heart wellness medical director, hosts a panel of her colleagues for this special conversation. Following the presentation, the panel will be available for a Q&A session – questions submitted through our live-stream and collected from our in-person audience.
Dr. Lori Tam: General heart health introduction
Dr. Logan Vincent: How pregnancy impacts heart health, short-term and long-term
Dr. Alefiyah Rajabali: Understanding atrial fibrillation and arrhythmias in women
