Challenge this month: Start a new tradition by setting the dinner table. This not only opens the space for social interaction with your family and friends, it also brings a practice of mindful eating to the experience. Mindful eating at the dinner table encourages slower eating allowing your brain to send cues when your full for portion control and also helps in digestion.
Start Small: Set your dinner table twice each week to practice mindful eating.
Finish Remarkable: Replace social media with social hour around the dinner table every night, wherever you are.

Practice mindful eating instead of mindless eating.
Set a place at the dinner table, even if you’re eating for one. Make sure your table is clutter free.
Adjust the lighting to a comfortable level.
Add soft music to play in the background.
Leave the technology (phones, laptops, gaming devices) in another room to free yourself from the distraction.
Use smaller plates and serving dishes to help with portion control.
Take time to savor each bite and taste the flavors of each dish.
Engage in conversation, this slows your eating and allows your brain time to process satiety.
Use the 20-minute rule before going back for seconds. Are you still hungry?
