Free Heart Screenings for Youth Ages 12-18

Since 2012, our Play Smart program has provided over 40,000 free youth heart screenings where we have diagnosed hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, long QT syndrome, Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome and other conditions that can be treated or monitored.

  • Lo más probable es que el corazón de su hijo(a) esté sano, pero existe un pequeño porcentaje entre los jóvenes que indica anormalidades ocultas del corazón, mismas que ponen en riesgo sus vidas. Ciertos de estos problemas, como la cardiomiopatía hipertrófica, el síndrome del QT largo, el síndrome Wolff-Parkinson-White y otras afecciones que se pueden tartar o monitorear, no se pueden diagnosticar mediante exámenes rutinarios del bienestar de jóvenes (well-child exams) u otros exámenes físicos. Por tanto, Play Smart ofrece un examen corto y sin dolor conocido como electrocardiograma (ECG).

    Providence cardiologists review each screening and share results through a safe and secure process. This screening is open to everyone aged 12-18. It is not required to be a patient of Providence or have Providence insurance to participate. We typically recommend at least one screening during the teenage years.

    • Providence Newberg Medical Center (PNMC), 1003 Providence Drive, Suite 325, Newberg, OR 97132

SCHEDULING AN APPOINTMENT:

Appointment window opens 60 days prior to a scheduled event. Must be a minimum of age 12 at time of screening.
