Prep Time: 5 mins | Cook Time: 10 mins | Makes: 16 servings

Ingredients

  • 2 c of berries (fresh or thawed frozen)

  • 1-2 Tbsp maple syrup (or alternative sweetener to taste)

  • 2-3 Tbsp chia seeds.

Directions

  1. Place berries and sweetener into a saucepan and bring to a simmer over medium heat.

  2. Once berries appear to melt together or burst in the case of fresh blueberries, gently mash with a fork or potato masher to desired consistency.

  3. Increase heat to medium/high for another 3-5 minutes. Stir consistently so the berries don’t burn.

  4. Turn off heat and starting with 2 Tbsp add chia seed, stirring to combine very well. Add more chia seeds if a thicker consistency is desired.

  5. Cool slightly until mixture appears to thicken.

  6. Transfer to sanitized dry jars and refrigerate or freeze.

Notes

This goes great on top of Chia Pudding!
