Ingredients

  • 1 Tbsp chili powder

  • 1½ tsp ground cumin

  • 1 tsp ground coriander

  • 1 tsp paprika

  • ½ tsp garlic powder

  • ½ tsp onion powder

  • ½ tsp black pepper

  • ¼ tsp oregano

  • ½ tsp cayenne, optional

Directions

  1. Combine all ingredients in a small bowl and mix until well combined.

  2. Label and store in an air-tight container for up to six months.

Notes

  • This recipe makes ~3 Tbs of taco seasoning, similar to the amount you’d find in a premade seasoning packet. Use 1-2 Tbs of taco seasoning for every one pound of meat, adding a bit of water to make for a saucier consistency if you prefer.

  • As this recipe is salt free, you may want to add salt to taste when cooking.

  • Add cayenne powder for a spicier kick or add lime powder for a punchy, tart pop of flavor.

  • Consider doubling or tripling this recipe to make a larger batch if you frequently use these flavors in your cooking.

  • Use this warm, earthy seasoning blend to taco meat, burritos, enchiladas, casseroles, soups, roasted veggies, or creamy dips.
