Ingredients

  • 1 Tbsp celery seed

  • ½ tsp paprika

  • ¼ tsp cayenne

  • ¼ tsp mustard powder

  • 1/8 tsp nutmeg

  • 1/8 tsp cinnamon

  • 1/8 tsp ground ginger

  • 6 bay leaves

Directions

  1. Combine all ingredients except for the bay leaves in a small bowl and mix until well combined.

  2. Transfer spice blend to an air-tight container then add in the whole bay leaves. Label and store for up to six months.

Notes

  • As this recipe is salt free, you may want to add salt to taste when cooking. 

  • Use this simplified version of the classic old bay seasoning on seafood, poultry, meats, salads, soups, veggies (especially corn on the cob), and especially seafood boils.
